Ian
A. Young, PT, MS, OCS, SCS, Cert MDT
Ian
has been a Physical Therapist at Fredericksburg
Orthopaedic Associates Physical Therapy Institute
since 1998. Ian is the director of physical
therapy here at FOA. Ian is responsible
for the development of a Sports Medicine Clinic
and is the Center Coordinator for Clinical Education
here at FOA. Ian has published research
and has board certifications in both Orthopaedic
and Sports Physical Therapy. He is also
certified in Mechanical diagnosis and Therapy
of the spine by the McKenzie Institute.
Ian
obtained his BS from Springfield College in 1992
and continued with graduate studies in Physiology
before obtaining his MS in Physical therapy from
North Georgia College in 1998. Ian is currently
working on his dissertation in order to complete
his Doctor of Science degree.
Ian
also enjoys teaching. He has assisted in
teaching Gross Anatomy and Orthopaedics at VCU-DPT
program as well as Anatomy and Physiology to nursing
students at a local college. He currently
is associate faculty for Gross Anatomy in the
T-DPT program at Virginia Commonwealth University.
Ian
lives in Fredericksburg with his wife, Erin, and
sons, Avery and Jack.
Chris
Brown , CSCS, Cert MDT
Chris joined Fredericksburg
Orthopaedic Associates in May of 2004. He graduated
from the University of Evansville in Evansville,
IN, in May 2002 with a BS in Biology, BS in PT,
and Masters in PT. He received his certification
in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy of the spine
in 2007.
Chris is an avid sports enthusiast
and participated in division AA football and his
interests carry over professionally in sports
and orthopaedic physical therapy. He is a certified
strength and Conditioning Specialist and a member
of the sports section of the American Physical
Therapy Association as well as a member of the
National Strength & Conditioning Association.
Chris is a member of the RVFOA and
officiates local youth through high school varsity
football games. He lives in Fredericksburg with
his wife Katie and son C.J.
Trish
Davis, PT, MS, OCS, COMT, CSCS
Trish joined Fredericksburg
Orthopaedic Associates in May 2003. She received
her BS in Clinical Science in 1997 and MS in Physical
Therapy in 1998 from Ithaca College.
Trish is board certified in
Orthopaedic Physical Therapy. She is certified
in Orthopaedic Manual therapy through Maitland
and Strength and Conditioning through the National
Strength and Conditioning Association.
Trish is pursuing her doctoral
degree with a special interest in pediatric orthopaedics
and sports rehab.
Daniel
Walker, DPT, CSCS
Dan
is a recent graduate of Medical College of Virginia’s
Physical Therapy Program in May 2006. He received
his undergraduate degree in Science of Exercise
and Nutrition from Virginia Tech in May 2000.
Dan
has also worked in the fitness field for 10 years
and has dedicated his career to sports medicine.
Melissa
A. McCormack, MS, PT
Melissa has been a Physical
Therapist with Fredericksburg Orthopaedic Associates
Physical Therapy Institute since 1998. She is
currently the Clinic Director for our Stafford,
Virginia location.
Melissa completed her undergraduate
education at the University of Virginia. She continued
her education at the Medical College of Virginia
in Richmond receiving her Master’s of Science
in Physical therapy in 1998. She is currently
working toward her Manual Therapy Certification.
Grace
Phillips, OTR, CHT
Grace
is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania
with a B.S. in Occupational Therapy. She has worked
in a variety of settings including university
and community hospitals, home health services,
work hardening centers, and orthopedic clinics.
She has specialized in hand rehabilitation for
several years and is a certified hand therapist.
Laura
Mandell , MPT
Laura is a Staff
Physical therapist for Fredericksburg Orthopaedic
Associates in our Stafford, VA location.
Laura received her undergraduate
and graduate education at Clarkson University
in Potsdam, New York. She is received a BS in
Psychology and a Masters degree in Physical therapy.
She is currently working towards her Doctorate
of Physical Therapy at Clarkson University.
Laura is also involved with
Virginia Special Olympics. She currently serves
as State Director for the Healthy athletes FUNFitness
initiative, a Physical Therapy based screen and
evaluation tool for Special Olympic athletes.
Ann
Davis, PTA
Ann has been a licensed
Physical Therapist Assistant since 1998. She graduated
from the college of Health and Science in Roanoke,
Virginia. She has been employed by Fredericksburg
Orthopaedic Associates for 8 years.
Ann is originally from Long
Island, New York. She now lives in Fredericksburg
with her husband, 6 year old son, and 2 daughters
ages 4 and 6 months.
